“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Wealth envy on display

The attacks on Walmart by democrats and union thugs continues unabated. This time it's from Ed Smith, an alderman in Chicago who's using the wage gap between CEO's and worker drones to demand higher wages for drones.....

Walmart CEO earns more in 1 hour than workers earn in a year. Walmart CEO Michael Duke's $35 million salary, when converted to an hourly wage, worked out to $16,826. By comparison, at a Walmart store planned for the Windy City's Pullman neighborhood, new employees to be paid $8.75 an hour would gross $13,650 a year.

So what? The reason CEO's make so much is that they do jobs that very few people can do. The reason new employees make $8.75 an hour is that they do jobs that millions of people can do. It's simple market economics.

Because of the job Michael Duke does, Walmart makes hundreds of millions in profits each year. Because of the job the greeter does, Walmart is the butt of countless jokes.

This is nothing more than wealth envy, minimum wage whining, and a push for unionization of the largest ununionized work force in America. Democrats and their goon friends in the union can't stand that Walmart does more to lift people out of poverty by providing them with quality goods at inexpensive prices, than the government ever could, without government or union involvement.
