“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

So that's what a vuvuzela is

I've tried to watch a couple of World Cup matches but there's a constant buzz-like droning coming from the TV. I didn't know what it was until I found this article...

From Drudge -- JOHANNESBURG — World Cup organising committee head Danny Jordaan on Sunday did not rule out banning vuvuzelas, the noisy plastic trumpets which have proved a hit with fans in South Africa but threaten to deafen players and viewers alike.

Criticism of the vuvuzelas has been almost as loud as the instruments themselves with broadcasting companies complaining the din is almost drowning out commentary.

The noise from these stupid horns makes the match practically unwatchable. Apparently fans in South Africa are playing them from 6 in the morning until they pass out drunk, well after midnight. Teams cannot get proper sleep, players can barely hear each other during matches, and some teams are even blaming the incessant drone on poor game performance. That may be a stretch but, the big concern is that TV audiences around the world are tuning out because it's so irritating to listen to for a 2-hour show.

If organizers detect a loss of world-wide, advertising revenue because fans refuse to stop blowing their stupid plastic, Dr. Seuss trumpets, watch for a quick ban on them in the stadiums during games. International soccer hooligans should return to the storied traditions of 24/7 drinking, hiring prostitutes, and fighting each other in the stands and pubs and let the rest of the world enjoy the televised product without their annoying intrusion.
