“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Obvious scam artist has history of scamming

Remember earlier this week when I called B.S. on that guy who claimed he was the victim of a run-away Prius? Turns out I was right.....

From FoxNews -- On Monday, James Sikes called 911 to report that he was behind the wheel of an out-of-control Toyota Prius going 94 mph on a freeway near San Diego. Twenty-three minutes later, a California Highway Patrol officer helped guide him to a stop, a rescue that was captured on videotape.

Since then, it's been learned that:

— Sikes filed for bankruptcy in San Diego in 2008. According to documents, he was more than $700,000 in debt and roughly five months behind in payments on his Prius;

— In 2001, Sikes filed a police report with the Merced County Sheriff's Department for $58,000 in stolen property, including jewelry, a digital video camera and equipment and $24,000 in cash.

Everybody wants to make a fast, undeserved wad of cash at the expense of others and there's no shortage of skeevy lawyers to help them do it. I hope this revelation forces everybody to put the brakes on the lynching of Toyota over mostly imagined, if not entirely made up, design problems.

94 mph in a Prius? That "fact" raised my eyebrows.

Invetigators have been unable to reproduce any unexpected conditions leading to an unexpected acceleration of a Prius. Here is the link, it is very long , but just copy and paste:
