“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Fraud, Waste, and Abuse....your government at "work"

Think your elected officials, regardless of party, are hard at work doing the business of the American people? Think again....

WASHINGTON -- When 10 members of Congress wanted to study climate change, they did more than just dip their toes into the subject: They went diving and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. They also rode a cable car through the Australian rain forest, visited a penguin rookery and flew to the South Pole.

..The 11-day trip -- with six spouses traveling along as well -- took place over New Year's 2008. Details are only now coming to light as part of a Wall Street Journal analysis piecing together the specifics of the excursion.

Here are some other low lights of these fat-cat politicians living it up on our dime...

-Brian Baird (D., Wash.) and some others, along with their families, took an excursion to the Galapagos Islands to "study climate change"...cost-$200-300K.
-Ted Stevens (R., Alaska) and others, along with families, went to the Paris Air Show to "study the aviation industry"...cost-$500K.

Isn't it funny how politicians' fact-finding missions always seem to include stopovers at Hawaii, New Zealand, Paris, The Great Barrier Reef, etc.? Who here thinks it's a coincidence that "fact-finding" trips are almost always to popular and expensive vacation spots? If you raised your hand, you are a gullible moron and, in the best interests of your fellow Americans, you should relinquish your right to vote and leave the important decisions to us grown-ups!
