“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

It would just suck to be Robert Gibbs

Jake Tapper humiliates the hapless oaf Robert Gibbs once again when he asks him to clarify what our idiot VP Biden said ragarding the swine flu "epidemic" that isn't happening....

How humiliating to have to stand there on national TV and defend the idiot Biden while being subjected to mockery, laughter, and ridicule from your audience who know you're full of crap....I love it!

If this poor schlub isn't an alcoholic already, he soon will be.

This is why CNN is losing money

If you are dying to lose 30 IQ points or so, watch this CNN clip as stupid, white anchoress Kyra Phillips tries to "go gangsta" by using terms to describe The One as having "swagga" and "flava". You might want to grab a trash can for this if you've eaten recently....

You don't see Melissa Rivers drooling and sucking up this much to celebrity twits on the red carpet at the Oscars. It's absurd!

As embarassing as it is to watch, I laughed at T.J. Holmes when even he rolled his eyes at the fist bump at the end of the whole idiotic segment. It's no wonder CNN's ratings are in the tank. Even the most moronic Obama supporter has to say "enough" at some point.

Even the Huffington Post called it CNN's most embarassing ever.

Joe Biden....a one-man catastrophe

Vice President Gafftastic never fails to say something stupid....

Speaking on NBC's "Today," Biden, a longtime Amtrak rider who has commuted for decades daily from Delaware to Washington, D.C., said he wouldn't advise family necessarily against going to Mexico, the source of the H1N1 outbreak, but he wouldn't tell them to get into any small area like a subway car, automobile, classroom or airplane.

He's advising people to avoid basically every mode of travel we have. How are we supposed to get around? Bicycles? This irresponsible fear-mongering will likely cost the already struggling airlines millions. The reports out of Mexico are already saying that the H1N1 strain is less deadly than the flu that kills tens of thousands every single year. Joe Biden, and his boss for that matter, seem to have no inkling of the gravity of their offices, and therefor their words. When they were inconsequential back-benchers in Congress, they could say crazy, irresponsible things and nobody paid attention. They can't do that now.

Subsidizing irresponsibility

The expansion of our responsibility for the failures of idiots continues unabated....

The Obama administration unveiled an expansion of its $75 billion foreclosure prevention plan yesterday, providing new subsidies to mortgage lenders and investors.
Under the expanded plan, some homeowners could see their payments fall significantly and the interest rate on their second mortgage pushed down to 1 percent.

Here's The Boy Wonder, tax-cheat Timothy Geithner's rationalization for having taxpayers pay for derelicts' second mortgages....

“Ensuring that responsible homeowners can afford to stay in their homes is critical to stabilizing the housing market, which is in turn critical to stabilizing our financial system overall. Every step we take forward is done with that imperative in mind,” Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner said in a statement.

Responsible homeowners? If they were responsible homeowners they wouldn't have gotten a second mortgage they couldn't afford, or a first for that matter. These people need to be renters. They don't have the money or sense to own homes. So now those of us who have played by the rules and sacrificed things to live within our means are on the hook for deadbeats' new decks, kitchen remodels, and third cars?

I guess I can get that new roof on my house afterall. Thanks a lot.....suckers!

Thanks to Hotair for the link.

Media-driven hysteria over Swine flu

As you might have expected, the media has overblown the swine flu "pandemic"....

A member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has dismissed claims that more than 150 people have died from swine flu, saying it has officially recorded only seven deaths around the world.

Vivienne Allan, from WHO's patient safety program, said the body had confirmed that worldwide there had been just seven deaths - all in Mexico - and 79 confirmed cases of the disease.

Only 7 dead people, all in Mexico, from the swine flu. Compare that number with the CDC's estimate that on average 36,000 people die each year from garden-variety influenza. It makes all the breathless reporting and hysteria over swine flu kind of silly doesn't it?

Stupid hippies

I never tire of dumb, smelly-hippie stories....

Dopey cannabis growers got busted by their own smoke alarm after plugs powering lights overheated.

Neighbours on Liverpool Old Road in Walmer Bridge called the fire brigade after hearing the alarm going off in the empty house at around 10pm on Monday.

When firefighters arrived they found plugs for powerful ultra-violet lights used to boost the plants growth had been "overloaded".

See kids, when you smoke dope, not only do you lose inspiration to do anything useful, you might wind up burning down your own house.

Thanks to Fark for the link.

The stunning arrogance of Queen Pelosi

With Arlen Specter's predictable but treacherous defection, Nancy Pelosi is frothing at the mouth about not having to explain or justify anything democrats do, to the American people....

Sen. Arlen Specter's decision to switch parties will make it easier for Democrats to move forward with their agenda, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Tuesday.

Specter's switch will give Democrats 60 caucus members in the Senate (assuming Al Franken wins his legal battle in Minnesota). That is enough votes to end debate on a bill and overcome Republican filibusters.

"Very exciting, very exciting for the American people, because now we can get things done without explaining process," Pelosi told CNN's Candy Crowley.

The arrogance of Queen Pelosi is absolutely astonishing! With The One's poll numbers still in the 60's, bullet-proof majorities in both Houses, and help from a subservient, deplorable media, the democrats know that they can get away with literally anything and there's nobody to hold them accountable. Look for the pace of changes to the American cultural and political landscape to accelerate dramatically from now until the mid-terms, still a year and a half away. This country may not resemble itself by then.

Did the ancient Mayans know something?

This is a little unnerving...

For scary speculation about the end of civilization in 2012, people usually turn to followers of cryptic Mayan prophecy, not scientists. But that’s exactly what a group of NASA-assembled researchers described in a chilling report issued earlier this year on the destructive potential of solar storms.

Entitled "Severe Space Weather Events — Understanding Societal and Economic Impacts," it describes the consequences of solar flares unleashing waves of energy that could disrupt Earth’s magnetic field, overwhelming high-voltage transformers with vast electrical currents and short-circuiting energy grids. Such a catastrophe would cost the United States "$1 trillion to $2 trillion in the first year," concluded the panel, and "full recovery could take 4 to 10 years." That would, of course, be just a fraction of global damages.

Good-bye, civilization.

I don't generally believe these ancient predictions like those of Nostradamus and of course the Mayans. They are always very vague and can be interpreted in many different ways to fit current events. That said, the Mayans predicted the beginning of a new era, not the destruction of Earth necessarily but, a turning point, the beginning of the fifth age of man, whatever that means, in December of 2012.

Read this article from Wired and see what you think.

All I'm saying is that it's a pretty big coincidence that the Sun's magnetic pole flips over, there is predicted to be unprecedented solar activity, and simultaneously, the Earth experiences a huge hole in it's magnetic shield. And all this is supposed to take place when the Mayans predicted something huge would happen.

Just saying.

Arabian Chupacabra......BUSTED!!!

You remember earlier this week I posted a picture of a supposedly mystery "alien" creature, captured on the camera phone of a shopper in Doha, Qatar. Well, as suspected, it turned out to be a hoax. Thanks to reader Kei for sending in the link to this toy advertisement.....

RINO Spectre finally stops pretending

So the RINO Arlen Spectre is finally making official what we've all known for some time, then he's really a liberal, by announcing that he's officially a democrat.

He really had no choice if he wanted to remain sucking at the government teat. Spectre had a doughnut's chance at Rosie O'Donnel's house of beating Pat Toomey in the midterms. And given his devotion to liberalism, I don't know why anybody is calling it switching. He switched long ago.

Good riddance! I wonder how long before fellow RINO's Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe do the same? Turncoats!

What is Wrong with this Country????

Posted by Reid

What in the world are the folks in Montebello, California thinking. The U.S. flag flown under another countries flag. And then flown upside down, a distress call or what?

I am so perplexed by the continued lack of actions of the citizenship of this once proud country. All people do is sit around and moan about how bad it is (and its gonna get worse with that attitude) and allow the wretched of the country to take over.

Example: Look at your history. In Egypt, years ago, the people were hit with a famine. No grain. They went to Pharaoh and asked for help. He grabbed up all the grain in government silos and sold it to the people at inflated prices until they were all out of money. Then those idiots sold themselves into slavery for food. Today our news states that the U.S. government will own a 50% stake in GM if the restructuring plan takes effect. What are we allowing to happen? Sounds eerily familiar to me. Time to act folks before its to late and we are all slaves to the government. Pull your heads out of the sand and look at whats happening. This isn't going away without work and sacrifice. It didn't happen last week, this has been decades in the making, it will take time and energy to repair, but lets not lose all of our freedoms as it goes down.

Build it, and they will come

Not to be deterred by no cases of swine flu in their state, idiot bureaucrats are determined to get in on the action anyway....

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― Maryland health officials say there were no confirmed or suspected cases of swine flu in the state as of Monday afternoon.

State officials say it is only a matter of time until the swine flu shows up in Maryland. So far, the state has not had any reports of swine flu, but that's not stopping officials from taking precautions.

There's nothing wrong with preparation but, a command center? What do you bet it's catered with fresh pastries and gourmet coffee all day? Mmmmmm...pastries!

Here's Maryland's new state-of-the-art command center....ready to deal with all the cases of swine flu that officials hope come one day.

We're surrounded by idiots

Of all the brain-dead decisions government bureaucrats make, and they are too numerous to count, this might be at the top of the list....

It wasn't even a drill. It was a photo op.

And the Pentagon told local authorities about it, but said they couldn't share the information with the public.

An Air Force One lookalike and one and possibly two F-16 Fighting Falcons buzzed the Statue of Liberty in New York harbor this morning, halting work on nearby construction sites, causing resident and office workers to flee their high-rises and giving thousands of people in downtown Manhattan and New Jersey a major fright. At least two people were treated for minor injuries at Jersey City Medical Center after falling during the rush to exit their buildings.

"Everybody panicked," said Daisy Cooper, a Merrill Lynch worker in Jersey City, who lost a nephew on 9/11. "Everybody was screaming and we all ran downstairs. I'm devastated...Everybody was running, we didn't know why we were running. We just knew it was a plane, there we go, 9/11 again."

Did the idiots in the military really think it would be a good idea to terrify millions of New Yorkers with large airplanes flying extremely close to national landmarks....in order to take a picture? New Yorkers still have nightmares about 9/11...understandably for sure. They probably have butterflies every morning as they ride the elevator or climb a flight of stairs to their offices. Who couldn't have forseen the panic? Or worse, they did forsee it but, dismissed it. I'd like to know who authorized this stunt. He should be fired for sheer stupidity.

Oaf Robert Gibbs thanks press for overlooking his incompetence

Hapless oaf Robert Gibbs doled out praise to the White House press for not asking him any hard questions and overlooking that he's the worst W.H. press secretary in memory....

Robert Gibbs gave White House reporters a "strong A" Friday for their work over the first 100 days of the new administration.

Of course he gave them an "A". They have completely abdicated their watch-dog responsibility, choosing instead to be cheer-leaders and doe-eyed sycophants of The One.

At best, media covering an administration should get no better than a "C", because they are being adversarial rather than, like the current WH press, helpfully disemenating whatever propoganda dribbles from Gibbs' mouth.

From Politico.

Groom: "Just kill me now"!

Climbing into a monkey suit to get married is bad enough but, imagine being forced by the bride to get dressed up as a stupid cartoon character....because she thinks you look like one.....

Keith Green and Christine England spent three hours in make-up to walk down the aisle looking like the cartoon characters from the hit animated films.

Mr Green, 44, and his 40-year-old bride were covered in green paint and full costume and wigs and married in front of 100 guests also dressed as characters from the film, including the Donkey and the Gingerbread Man.

"The idea just came to me. I knew what we would go as them because Keith looks just like Shrek. It was funny because when we said our vows Keith had these green ears sprouting from the top of his head.

"I tried to convince my teenage son to dress up as the Donkey but he wasn't having any of it."

Most marriages end in humiliation and indignity. This one, at least for the groom, is starting out that way. There is one bright side to this for Keith, however. In terms of self-respect, integrity, and personal pride, he's got nowhere to go but up from here. Regardless of what kind of nagging, soul-crushing fish-wife Christine will undoubtedly turn out to be, it couldn't be any worse than this.

Jews kicking Muslim pirates' butts

Does anybody else see the poetry here?

ROME — An Italian cruise ship with 1,500 people on board fended off a pirate attack far off the coast of Somalia when its Israeli private security forces exchanged fire with the bandits and drove them away, the commander said Sunday.

When Muslims do something bad like saw off heads, riot in the streets, or be pirates, the media usually omit that they are Muslims. If Christians or Jews did it, it would be in the first line of the article. That's why it's funny that Israeli security fended off the Muslim pirate attack. Watch, now every merchant or cruise ship will hire a private security detail to repel pirate attacks. We cannot stop piracy without occupying Somalia and we under no circumstances should send in a single troop to that God-forsaken rat hole. But we can stop each and every individual pirate attack. Just like I said here, one or two dudes with sniper rifles should be able to easily fend of a motor boat of 16yo pirates.

Ugh.....here we go again

Loathing of America having rotted and poisoned his brain, Obama is determined to tear the country apart with stuff we've been through before.....

In a letter from the Justice Department to a federal judge yesterday, the Obama administration announced that the Pentagon would turn over to the American Civil Liberties Union 44 photographs showing detainee abuse of prisoners in Afghanistan and Iraq during the Bush administration.

Rahm Emanuel and his witless master Obama, are in league with George Soros over at MoveOn. Soros has poured billions into anti-American and anti-Bush propoganda, including helping get Obama elected. Soros wants nothing more than to show the world how evil Americans are by investigating and criminally prosecuting Bush officials who knew about the practice of water-boarding. But Americans are rightly not interested in this. They'd rather have jobs and their 401K's reinflated. By revisiting Abu Ghraib, Soros and Emanuel hope to whip Americans into a Bush-hating frenzy to the point that they agree to have Bush and his administration brought up on charges. The willing compliant media will do Emanual's bidding as they always have by feigning shock and outrage at pictures from Abu Ghraib that we've seen already.

If they go through with these show trials of Bush administration officials, it'll tear the country apart. But then, that's exactly what Soros and Emanuel want.

Politicians' Pointless Pandering

Apparently the nimrods in the Alabama House down in Montgomery have solved all our other problems. I mean since they have time for this sort of nonsense...

MONTGOMERY -- The Alabama House has approved a resolution that praises Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean for speaking out against gay marriage.

When Alabama's high-school graduation percentages are in the 90's rather than the 60's; when corruption and cronyism are no longer a given in Montgomery; when legislators cut their spending budgets before they raise our taxes, then they can waste taxpayer money and time on pointless social statements. Embarassingly, this kind of crap resonates with many Alabama voters....that's why the representatives do it.

The Arabian Chupacabra

Previously unknown species, alien, or hoax?

From the Gulf Times -- A mysterious figure resembling a human being was sighted on the Doha Corniche’s parking lot, according to a report published in a local Arabic daily.
The report is based on the statement of an Arab expatriate lady who said she had seen the strange figure near the Oryx statue while walking in the area.
Quoting the woman, the daily said she took a picture of it in spite of being terribly frightened.
“She was very soon surrounded by a large number of people who also attested to the fact of what she had seen . But it suddenly disappeared out of their sight when they tried to go near it,” the report added.

I never quite know what to make of these sorts of sightings. I'd like to believe that something strange is happening, like with the crop circles, but usually it's a hoax of some kind. What do you think? Is this a photoshop or some creature that acutally exists?

No makeover for me

I'm all for being who you are and not changing just to please somebody else's notion of how you should look but, come on! At least try....even a little.

UPDATE: Not so fast it would seem, with the "no-makeover" insistence.

Light posting day

I'm pretty slammed today so posting will be light. If you haven't been to TRR before, check out the archives from earlier this week over in the right-hand column.

Abu Ghraib sounds like a picnic compared to hell-week at U. Nebraska

I have a lot of friends who were in fraternities in college and they seem to have made life-long friends and worth-while business contacts from the experience. That said, are those things worth putting up with this?

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Tuesday suspended Sigma Chi fraternity after newly unsealed court documents detailed a series of alleged hazing incidents, including one in which a stripper allegedly used a vibrator to anally penetrate a fraternity pledge during an initiation party.

He said pledges were, among other things, verbally assaulted in what was billed as a “character-building” activity and forced to drink shots of Tabasco sauce and vodka until they vomited.

Let's see, anal rape by a hooker builds character, how exactly? I'm just curious. Other "character building" activities forced upon 18yo pledges at Nebraska included....

-leap-frogging each other around the fraternity house while being pelted with ice, wet paper towels and toilet paper by older members in an exercise called “Busy as a Bee.”

-standing staring at the ceiling while older members shouted obscenities at them for two hours. Fraternity members called the exercise “character building,” and older members were usually intoxicated.

-being forced to sleep together with the windows open. At midnight, older members entered and began yelling and throwing ketchup, ranch dip, dill pickles, full beer cans and other food items.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not blaming the fraternities entirely. The kids who ask to be members knowing they'll have to do this stuff are every bit as stupid, maybe stupider, than the practice of hazing itself. Maybe, as my friend says, there are fraternities who don't haze. If that's the case then I have no problem with it. All I know is that when I was in school in the early 80's, every fraternity and every sorority routinely hazed pledges during hell week with "character building" nonsense like this that included prostitutes, alcohol sickness, serious injuries, and in some frats, serious drug use and branding. If there is a reader who can justify putting up with treatment like this in order to make friends and business contacts, please enlighten us.

Their parents must be proud.

Liberalism at it's stupidest

The government is guilty of spending taxpayer money on all manner of stupid schemes to buy votes but, this program pretty much stands alone in the long and embarassing annals of liberal idiocy....

NEW YORK (AP) -- The city's experimental anti-poverty program that pays poor New Yorkers for good behavior like seeing the doctor and attending parent-teacher conferences handed out an average of $3,000 per family in its first year.

The program pays poor families rewards, known as conditional cash transfers, for completing tasks like seeing a doctor ($200), attending parent-teacher conferences ($25) or getting health insurance ($40).

What kind of stupid cretins need to be paid to see a doctor? Or be involved with their kids? Or insure themselves?

Answer: garden-variety Obama voters, that's who.

I see my doctor. I attend teacher conferences. I have health insurance. Where's my gov't check?

Should we as a society be bribing the stupid idiots among us to exhibit the most basic of human behavior? If they don't go to the doctor, they'll rightfully die off....hopefully before they breed and create more stupid people.

This is a perfect microcosm of the mortgage, banking, and auto industries. If we prop up failure, we get more failures. If we let them die, the successful remain to fill the void.

Getting paid to see the doctor.....what a scam!

If you disagree with a liberal, you're a hater

Over at Michelle Malkin's site, she has a great article pointing out the hypocrisy regarding hate speech, of the liberal left in the new age of the Obamessiah. The disgusting degenerate Perez Hilton, talentless D-lister Janeanne Garafalo, and CNN Obama toadie Anderson Cooper are apt targets of Michelle's ire.

The left's double standard for what qualifies as "hate speech" is correctly ID'd by Michelle as being anything that disagrees politically with their demented world view. Give it a read and pass the link on to friends....expecially your liberal friends.

Sad

How's this for irony?

NEW YORK (WCBS 880 / AP) -- Farifax, VA police tell CBS TV affiliate WUSA in Washington DC the acting head of Freddie Mac, David Kellerman, has committed suicide.

The CFO of Freddie Mac does to himself precisely what the country is doing to itself by bailing out failed companies like Freddie Mac. This guy wasn't even there when the crimes took place...it was his job to clean it all up.

McCain may pay the price for fecklessness

Looks like John McCain's chickens are coming home to roost.

From Politico...

Social conservatives tolerated John McCain as the party's nominee, but never trusted him, and he now appears to be facing a serious primary from the right in Arizona next year.

Chris Simcox, the founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and a prominent figure in the movement to clamp down on illegal immigration, will be announcing tomorrow at an event on the Mexican border that he's resigned from the group to run in the 2010 Senate primary.

Besides being an abysmally weak GOP candidate against the Cult-of-Obama tsunami, McCain has serially failed to secure the borders in his home state of Arizona, and he rushed back to DC during the election to vote FOR, I said FOR, the absurd bailout bill. The last election was no time for a supposedly conservative candidate to go quietly along with the tide of socialism and media sycophancy that swept a far-left, socialist community agitator into the White House. Had McCain stood his ground and held to conservative principles, he might have pulled it off. Maybe not, but he could have come much closer and he wouldn't be electorally threatened from his right flank in 2010. I hope Simcox wins. It'll be a wake-up call for other self-proclaimed "conservatives" to stick to conservatism on the job, not just during each campaign.

The correct assessment, for the wrong reasons

Even in the land of fruits and nuts, they've figured out that biofuels are a pointless waste, if not a harmful waste....

California regulators, trying to assess the true environmental cost of corn ethanol, are poised to declare that the biofuel cannot help the state reduce global warming.

The regulators are right. Biofuels cannot reduce global warming, but not because putting our food in our gas tanks actually spends more carbon than petroleum. It's because GLOBAL WARMING IS A PREPOSTEROUS MYTH!!!!

If biofuels were efficient products for energy, consumers would be demanding them. But only moronic, granola-munching hippies want to pay more money for a less efficient fuel on behalf of a menace that exists only in the minds of deranged, would-be eco-tyrants like Al Gore.

Biofuels.....I swear!

Smelly hippies complain when they receive the beating they richly deserve

Smelly-hippie demonstrators in England are complaining that riot cops should be wearing NFL-style numbers on their uniforms so they can be identified more easily after they beat smelly-hippie demonstrators senseless.

Tell me this punk doesn't need a good beating....and maybe a bath.

Professor Hawk hospitalized

For those of you who didn't know, I'm sort of a science geek, that's why this is a bummer....

CAMBRIDGE, England, April 20 (UPI) -- British physicist Stephen Hawking, who has been "very ill," was hospitalized Monday, a Cambridge University statement said.

A spokesman said Hawking, 67, a wheelchair-bound professor best-known as the author of "A Brief History of Time," was undergoing tests at the school's Addenbrooke's Hospital, the British tabloid The Daily Mail reported.

Not since Einstein has the world of astrophysics had such an iconic figure as Professor Hawk.

Bonus: A virtual cookie to the first reader to name the origin of the moniker, "Professor Hawk".

Symbolism over substance

The subservient sycophants in the media will hail Obama as the budget slasher for this....

From FoxNews: In what amounts to a scene out of Hollywood's version of executive power, President Obama will convene his first Cabinet meeting this morning and order his department chiefs to immediately cut a combined $100 million from their budgets.

This is Rahm Emanuel's attempt to capture the magic of the movie "Dave" in which Kevin Kline as President convenes his cabinet and goes through their budgets line by line to cut spending. But 100million is 1/35,000th of the total budget. Symbolic yes but, does it really do anything substantive? If you make $100,000 a year, you could cut your budget by $3 and you'd be cutting a larger percentage from your spending.

How about abolishing the Depts. of Education, Energy, and Commerce for starters? Each is ridiculously unnecessary, if not counterproductive, and a bottomless, money abyss. That would be real budget slashing.

Obama's willful, useful-idiot status

By glad-handing and graciously accepting that book, Obama allowed himself to be played by thug dictator Hugo Chavez....

In front of photographers, Chavez gave Obama a copy of "The Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent," a book by Eduardo Galeano, which chronicles U.S. and European economic and political interference in the region.

This is a virulently anti-American book and by accepting it without comment, Obama opened the door for Chavez to brag to all of Latin America about how he confronted the yankee, capitalist pig with evidence of America's history of evil influence there. I'll admit that Obama was taken off guard and had little choice but to stand and take the book but, at the earliest possible opportunity, after his handlers had told him what the book was, he should have denounced it as the cheap stunt that it was.

The comparisons to Jimmy Carter's philosophy of weakness and appeasement of hostile enemies is starting to ring true every time Obama fails to stand up to one of these guys. I'madinnerjacket, Kim Jong-Il, Castro, and now Chavez....is there a more evil collection of tyrants for Obama to coddle? America looks weak because of Obama's failure to stand up to these guys, even rhetorically. Look for them to see how far he can be pushed now that he's shown that he has no spine for confrontation.

Celebrity shadenfreude

I would pay cash money to see a video clip of this....

NEW YORK — Madonna took a tumble while horseback riding in the Hamptons on Saturday when her mount was startled by photographers, and she suffered "minor injuries" and bruises, a spokeswoman said.

Paparazzi vermin leapt out of some bushes and scared the crap out of the horse and it threw 50 year old Madge to the ground....heh, heh!

UPDATE: Pat over at BelchSpeak has a much funnier take on Madge's spill.

The EPA....soon to be Obama's version of the SS

The morons over at the EPA have laid the groundwork for the most sweeping seizure of control of American industry and lifestyles....ever! And it's all in the name of the imaginary menace of climate change.....

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Environmental Protection Agency concluded Friday that greenhouse gases linked to climate change "endanger public health and welfare," setting the stage for regulating them under federal clean air laws.

The EPA action marks the first step toward imposing limits on pollution linked to climate change, which would mean tighter rules for cars and power plants. Agency officials cautioned such regulations are expected to be part of a lengthy process and not issued anytime soon.

In announcing the proposed finding, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson said it "confirms that greenhouse gas pollution is a serious problem now and for future generations."

It doesn't confirm anything but that Lisa Jackson is a deranged, global-warming sycophant who agrees with liberals' intent to bankrupt the country with pointless regulation on harmless CO2. When the smarmy bureaucrats at the EPA control all emissions, they control what, where, and when you may drive and how much more you'll pay for pretty much everything. And they'll have the unchecked power of the federal government to enforce their disastrous regulations. Failure to comply will result in harsh punishment and dissent from State-defined, environmental dogma will not be tolerated. Modern environmentalism is the new Nazism.

Another story about hair....I'm detecting a Friday theme

Seriously, people this stupid should be medicated and removed from the general population....

HOBOKEN, N.J. (WPIX) -- A New Jersey woman filed a $160-million lawsuit Wednesday against Sally Hansen and it's manufacturer, after she says she was scalded by hot wax that boiled over in its container.

Canas says she was scalded by hot wax that overflowed from the Sally Hansen container as she attempted to remove it from her microwave.

She claims she was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital in Hoboken where she was given morphine to ease the pain of the second and third-degree burns she sustained on her lower back, breast, and right thigh.

How stupid of a moron do you have to be to spill hot wax on your legs, back, and boobs removing it from the microwave? Was she naked? And I'm afraid to ask, if her shirt was off, are her boobs hairy enough to wax? (sorry for that mental image. If I could gouge out my mind's eye, I would)

Since this is in New Jersey, I'm sure there's no shortage of hairy, Italian chicks who, as jurors, will agree with her skeevy lawyer and she'll get the money. Then the price of every Sally Hansen product will go up for the rest of us, to pay her for being a total idiot.

Hirsutism: it's why they invented shaving

Boy, the few doctors left in the UK have an amazing grasp of the obvious....

From BBC: Excessive hairiness in women is not just a cosmetic problem but is likely to be a sign of an underlying medical condition, say UK doctors in a report.

No kidding? A medical condition....ya think?

Five to 15% of women have excess hair, and a hormone disorder is the most likely cause in many cases, they said. Women with the problem should not be afraid to seek medical advice.

Nor should they be afraid to seek a razor, or a jar of Nair. I mean, seriously. Grab a shave already!

Hillary's solution for solving high-seas piracy

Here's how clueless the Obama administration is about dealing with barbaric 17th Century criminals. Apparently Hillary thinks there's a pirate bank somewhere that takes pirate plunder and invests it in long-term T-bills and diversified money-market funds....

Clinton said she will work with the Somali government to crack down on pirate dens and make marine marauding less appealing to young Somali men; enlist foreign governments, shipping firms and insurance companies to better coordinate security and counterattacks, and try to seize the pirates' assets.

"They're buying faster and more capable vessels," she said. "There are ways to crack down on companies that would do business with pirates."

There is no Somali government. What is she talking about? And, pirates don't buy boats, by definition, they steal them. What's wrong with dealing with pirates the same way we dealt with them 300 years ago? We sink all their ships, destroy their headquarters and hideouts, and kill them. How many Somali teens will choose "Pirate on the High Seas" as an occupation when all their buddies before them float back to shore riddled with bullet holes and shark bites? They'll choose opium dealer, arms dealer, or land-based mercenary as a career field instead.

"Seize the pirates' assets".....gimme a frickin' break!

CNN can't resist the gutter jokes

This is a PG-rated blog(for the most part) so I won't define the term "teabagging" for you. Just go to the Urban Dictionary and see for yourself what a vile, disgusting joke this really is, when "journalists" like Anderson Cooper, Rachael Maddow, and the rest of the adolescents at CNN and MSNBC use it to describe conservatives attending tea parties. (WARNING: Extremely offensive content)

The problem, is that conservatives have never used "teabagging" to describe the rallies. We always use "tea parties". Only immature liberals use the term to ridicule and mock conservatives. The way these guys giggle at their own bathroom jokes I couldn't tell if I was watching CNN or Beavis and Butthead. Of course being gay, Anderson Cooper probably has first-hand knowledge of teabagging....yuck!

Tea-Party Re-cap

In case you weren't able to attend a tea-party protest yesterday in your area, here are a few of the sights and signs that were at ours in Birmingham....
Here I am with my friend A.T. That's me on the right.

There were a lot of FairTax supporters at our rally. While it would truly be great for America, I don't know if the FairTax really has a chance since politicians would be giving up a lot of control via the tax code....politicians never like to give up control of our lives.

The estimates were that we had around 7,000 people in attendance. And that's on a Wednesday night when many conservatives are at church. Had it been on any other evening, there would have been even more.

Of course there are Storm-troopers at practically every event.

Ayn Rand signs were every where. The people see where America is headed and they don't like it.

Time to clean the GOP house?

Over at Michelle Malkin's site, I read a comment from a reader regarding why the republicans in DC were oddly silent when it was revealed yesterday that DHS was officially targeting garden-variety conservatives as dangerous subversives for innocuous "crimes" like resisting the usurpation of states' authority by the federal government, opposing open-borders immigration policy, and favoring limits on abortion. I think she struck a common chord with disgruntled conservatives who're attending these tea parties.....

"Absolutely! Where was the GOP today when we found out that Napolitano is spying on us bible-toting, gun-clinging right wingers? Silent. Deafening silence. They have no backbone in the GOP anymore, and it’s why I registered Libertarian earlier this year."

I think comments like these should put incumbent republicans on notice that they had better be standing up for conservatism from now on or risk losing seats to other GOP candidates or candidates from the libertarian party. Hopefully if nothing else comes from these tea parties, that'll be the take-home message for GOP politicians.

Figures.....Al Sharpton defends the pirates

You knew it was just a matter of time before a moronic liberal cast the Somali pirates in a sympathetic light, probably having to do with socio-economic status, race, or their Muslim "religion". Always front and center, Al Sharpton sort of defended the pirates two days ago on his radio show saying this...

"You can call me now at 1 877 532 5797, (to say) something about the so-called pirates. They call themselves voluntary Coast Guards in Somalia, which may be more apt. Ah, whatever your view."

Any thug, criminal, terrorist, or dictator who deservedly ends up dead at the hands of the US military automatically earns revered status with liberals since liberals hate the US military. You wait, Al will claim at some point that if the pirates had been white Christians instead of black Muslims, the SEAL snipers would not have shot them.

Dispicable liberals will align themselves with literally anybody, regardless of how evil, if they can use them to discredit the military, who they see as arms of conservatives.

Dissent from The One will not be tolerated

Want to know who now qualifies as potential terrorists now that Our Dear Leader is in charge? According to a new study over at Homeland Security the answer is...pretty much anybody who disagrees with the socialist utopian vision Obama has for destroying America....

The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity," saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white-power militias.

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," the warning says.

The nine-page document was sent to police and sheriff's departments across the United States on April 7 under the headline, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment."

Just like in George Orwell's 1984, dissent from the official state will soon not be tolerated in America. We who refuse to drink the Obama Kool-aid may be rounded up and placed in re-education camps for reprogramming and indoctrination in the ways of the new world order. You think I'm kidding? Then why is DHS starting to investigate anybody who questions the authority of the imperial Obamunist state? Read that sentence in red above and tell me what right political bureaucrats have in investigating private citizens who voice dissent against the federal government. And if I'm against Obama's wide-open definition of immigration, that makes me a potential extremist? You see what's happening here: anybody who disagrees with the socialist policies of The One are incrementally being marginalized and painted as dangerous radicals.

Hey, this girl rejects Obama's socialism, DHS had better keep a close eye on her as a dangerous subversive.

From the Washington Times.

Stupid is as stupid does

The people who negotiated with the Nork's and didn't see this coming were probably the same people who refused to allow merchant ships to arm themselves and didn't see piracy coming either...

TOKYO, April 14 -- Fuming at the U.N. Security Council for condemning its recent missile launch, North Korea said Tuesday it will restart its plutonium factory, junk all its disarmament agreements and "never participate" again in six-country nuclear negotiations.

Those crazed Norks do this every time. Here's their operational template:

1. terrorize world with very public attempts at nuclear weapons development
2. thumb nose at enraged international community
3. pretend to listen to six-nation negotiations
4. agree to halt weapons program in exchange for food, medicine, fuel, etc.
5. laugh at abject stupidity of American Presidents and media who keep falling for it, over and over and over
6. secretly proceed with weapons program
7. wait for next US President and begin at #1

Insanity, is doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result.

TeaParty countdown

Be sure to show your representatives what you think about their behavior tomorrow at a Tax Day Tea Party near you. Click here, find your state, and then find the party nearest where you live.

Of course this is only the first step in demanding real change, as opposed to HopeyChange, in Washington. The ballot box in 2010 is the real opportunity to effect change in how things are done in DC. Don't be passive. Get educated, get mad, and get involved.

Where are the Scurvy Rats when you need them?

Posted by Reid:

The Seven Seas are relatively safe, yet a remote area of the world has become a nightmare for ocean traffic, while seeming to destroy the good name of pirating. You see, if one chose pirating as a career years ago, they were choosing a lifestyle full of weirdly dressed individuals that spoke in a language that most of us didn't/don't understand. It required adherence to a code and mostly it was Robin Hood-esque (taking from the rich to keep with the poor- themselves). Now we have roving bands of Somali pirates seemingly running roughshod over this watery area. They do not dress in a manner that allows one to discern that they are pirates, although they do steal , pillage, plunder from their victims. Without this identification (skull and crossbones flag, snazzy outfits, etc.) it becomes increasingly hard to discover intents until it is to late - or does it?

I now am well versed on these incidents. It is inherent on all of the worlds navies to take harsh measures to reinstate peace within this shipping region. Some are recommending a blockade of Somalia. That is absurd. To blockade a starving country doesn't help the situation. Somali folks are used to anarchy and to raw deals - they live with them daily. This serves no useful purpose. What needs to transpire is a full arming of all ships traveling the area. Having a few trained shooters on each ship will be a great deterrent to these looting souls. As ships start firing at the pirates, their inflatable/wooden skiffs will become useless. As soon as a few unknowing pirates are dumped into the shark infested waters in the Indian Ocean life will return to normal.

Oh by the way, this also helps un-fund the terrorism emanating from the area. Just a small by- product of proactive thinking. I feel that we need to start acting like the pirates do and treat them with the same scorn and disdain that they show the rest of the civilized world. Good riddance to this nuisance.

Reporting the obvious

I guess it's a slow news day when this passes as worthy journalism....

WASHINGTON — Micro cars can give motorists top-notch fuel efficiency at a competitive price, but the insurance industry says they do not fare well in collisions with larger vehicles.

In crash tests released Tuesday, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found that drivers of 2009 versions of the Smart "fortwo," Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris could face significant leg and head injuries in severe front-end crashes with larger, mid-size vehicles.

To sum it up....micro cars, and their occupants, get smushed in collisions with larger cars....no kidding!

UK Scientists experience "Eureka!" moment

In the UK, scientists unwittingly descend into outright parody of themselves.....

Scientists find 'pleasure nerves--

Scientists say they understand more about how the body responds to pleasurable touch.

A team, including scientists from the Unilever company, have identified a class of nerve fibres in the skin which specifically send pleasure messages.

Ironically, this "Eureka!" moment will go completely and comically wasted on these guys.

Leave it to scientists to waste tax-payer money "discovering" what normal, well-adjusted people all over the world already knew.

From where else, BBC.

Jump into the moat, get eaten by a polar bear

This cracked me up....

BERLIN, Germany (CNN) -- A polar bear attacked a woman at Berlin Zoo Friday afternoon after she climbed a fence and jumped into its habitat during feeding time, police said Saturday.

One adult polar bit her several times after she plunged into the moat, police said.

The funniest part is that the article specified that it was afterall, feeding time for the bears, as if they wouldn't have tried to eat her at some other time of day.
