“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

The republicans have no one to blame but themselves

Over at Conservative Grapevine, John has a link to GatewayPundit featuring a post highlighting this startling prediction from the CBO...

The Congressional Budget Office predicted that the current economic recession will end in the second half of 2009 without the trillion dollar stimulus.

Any economist not on Obama's payroll will attest to the fact that recessions and depressions resolve themselves eventually, without massive government intervention. And The One knows that the 51% of Americans who were dumb enough to vote for him, also are too dumb to know that the government cannot spend the country out of a recession. (It's no coincidence that the Americans who are in favor of all this government spending are the same Americans who comprise the loafing class, also known as hand-out voters) We will eventually pull out of the recession as soon as all the out-of-whack markets correct themselves. And Obama will take full credit for the rebound even though the porkulus package had nothing to do with it. And millions more witless Americans, "educated" in dreadful government indoctrination centers and encouraged by the treacherous, feckless media, will believe that their savior Obama delivered them from the darkness.

With this stimulus bill, Obama, the democrats, and the media are driving the country as fast as they can before we wake up, toward a socialist-style government with themselves firmly in charge for the indefinite future.

The funny thing is the republicans have no one to blame but themselves for going along with Bush when he spent money like a drunken sailor. They talk the small government, balanced-budget rhetoric now, but where what that talk back when Bush was signing the highway bill with over 400 earmarks? They deserve to be in exile for the forseeable future. It's just sad that the country has to pay the price for their failures.
