You knew this sort of thing was bound to happen....FRANTIC police smashed a window to rescue a seemingly unconscious baby from a locked vehicle in Queensland last week only to find it was an extremely lifelike doll.
The embarrassing mistake, made in regional Gympie, is not an isolated incident and passionate creator of the "reborn" baby dolls Vynette Cernik knows just how easily they can be mistaken for the real thing.
I've seen these bizarre dolls up close. Some girls in my extended family went through a "phase" and got some. They are nothing short of the creepiest, most disturbing facsimiles of humans I've ever seen. They aren't even attractive. They resemble trolls, or something in a campy B horror movie. I hope the city bills somebody for their trouble.

Ed thankfully I havent seen those dolls in about a year now. Yes you are right, these are the type of things kids have nightmares about. It is a scary experience to open a present and see an extremely lifelike baby pop out. Think of it as a jack in the box lacking all humor.
Yes, they are creepy. And there's something profoundly disturbing about an adult who carries one of the freakish things around, perhaps as a substitute for their childlessness.
Add these dolls to the list of things that I am irrationally scared of....clowns, horses, and sleep walkers.
Clowns, definitely on my list.
