“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Even a broken clock is right twice a day

As you know, Nancy Pelosi is a vile, loathsome wretch. That's how I begin all posts concerning the Speaker of the House. But even vile, loathsome wretches like her can get it right once in a while, and when they do, I'll give them credit for it...

Pelosi was cheered on her trip to India, when she made the first high-level call on the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader after anti-Chinese protests led to violent clashes between Tibetans and Chinese police 10 days ago.

"If freedom-loving people throughout the world do not speak out against China's oppression in Tibet, we have lost our moral authority to speak on behalf of human rights anywhere in the world," Pelosi said.

She's right about the moral authority argument. We can't insert ourselves all over the world on the basis of perceived injustice if we don't at least speak up every time we see it. Just because the offender is hosting the Olympics or is a valued trading partner doesn't exempt them from criticism about human rights.

See, I'm not as myopic when it comes to my opposition of democrats as you think.
