“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Talking animals

In Iowa of all places, scientists claim that some primates (bonobos) can understand English and can use symbols to communicate answers and thoughts...

The Great Ape Trust in Des Moines, Iowa, is home to seven bonobos -- a close relative of the chimpanzee -- and three orangutans. But if you think Iowa might be a strange place for them to live, don't say it out loud … these apes understand English.

Look, it's cool that these animals can push the pretty colored buttons but they're still just animals. You can teach chickens, which along with global-warming activists are perhaps the stupidest of all life-forms, to push a pretty colored button to get a kernel of corn or a drink of water. This blurring of the line between humans and animals has a logical conclusion, which is for animal rights nuts to confer human status to animals with all the rights that it implies.

I don't care how many tricks you teach it, it's still just an animal.

You can read the whole article here.

Here's an animal pushing the pretty colored buttons...even he is smarter than global-warming activists.

It's Ann Coulter Thursday!

This week Ann ridicules the dreadful amnesty bill which Bush, craven republicans, and welfare-state democrats are trying to sneak past the American people. Here are a few snipets...

-At the precise moment in history when the U.S. has abandoned any attempt to transmit Anglo-Saxon virtues to its own citizens, much less to immigrants, George Bush wants to grant citizenship to hordes of immigrants who are here precisely because they are fleeing cultures that are utterly dysfunctional and ruinous for the humans who live in them.

-Traitors who are citizens have also destroyed all incentive for the poor to work or even keep their knees together before marriage.

-And it is simply a fact that no one is trying to turn immigrants into Americans. To the contrary, Democrats are trying to turn new immigrants into wards of the state — and with some success! — so they will be permanent Democratic voters. Rich Republicans and their handmaidens in Washington are trying to turn immigrants into a permanent servant class.

Priceless and entertaining as always. Seriously, you need to go read the whole thing here.

STRAY-ROD !!

It appears that another sport celebrity has managed to screw-up (Pun possibly intended). Alex Rodriguez, the $252 million dollar man of the NY Yankees was caught on film entering his hotel with this blonde-non-wife female at midnight. A tryst in the making.

A-Rod checks into the Four Seasons hotel in Toronto on Sunday, the balance of the team is staying at the Hilton down the street, changes and heads to dinner with this girl and 2 friends. After dinner the party was shuttled to an upscale strip club in Toronto. Near midnight, these 2 are seen climbing into the "up" elevator. No mention of her departure time, if she has yet departed .

Facts as I know them are as follows:

A-Rod is married. Not to this woman. He is out of town. His wife is not with him. He is a rich and popular young man. He is not talking.

A-Rod is married and has a child by his wife. In their vows I assume he promised to honor her and to be faithful to her through sickness and health. It is apparent that at best something is amiss. I can only assume that most wives would not be thrilled to see a picture of their husband entering his hotel at midnight with another woman. By not talking, he only leaves available rampant speculation and gossip. What really bothers me, however, is the defense put on by Mike Golic this morning on his radio show. Mr. Golic is not bothered at all by any of the above mentioned issues. He is concerned with an invasion into the private life of a sports figure. I cannot fathom how a responsible adult could defend actions that violate a marriage and pawn it off on privacy issues. If the silence is lifted, I will gladly give Rodriguez a chance to explain, and will consider his explanation . I will not do the same for Golic. He apparently has no regard for the sanctity of marriage and for a promise/contract made and being fulfilled. I believe in fidelity to principle. Rodriguez is married and for better or worse should act as such.

Why stay at a seperate hotel? Why hang out with a

Weather, not cooperating with the Goreacle

Mindless environmental cultists are scrambling to rationalize how, with all the man-made global warming with which they've been scaring everybody, there are regular reports of freak snow storms and record cold temperatures across the globe. Here are a few samples of the weather headlines just from today...

--In Spitzing in Germany, locals have been forced to wrap up after ten centimetres of snow brought out the snowploughs for the first time this year.

--May 29 (Bloomberg) -- Argentina rationed electricity to companies and severed natural gas supplies to Chile as a cold wave prompted record demand for electricity in South America's second-largest economy.

--Dozens of people were feared killed in remote parts of north-western Nepal after the areas were hit by a freak snow storm, officials said on Tuesday.

The Goreacle cleverly changed the mantra of his pagan environmental religion from "man-made global warming" to "climate change", because as rational, thinking people have always known, the temperature of the Earth has been fluctuating for billions of years. It's always going either up or down, so by calling it "climate change" he can continue to terrify stupid, simple-minded people into crippling their own lifestyles regardless of whether there is a heat wave or a freak snow storm.

This lady is scraping 8 inches of global warming evidence off her windshield.

Ken Doll calls Romney Ken Doll

Nobody can remember Hollywood airhead Ben Affleck's last even moderately successful movie, so it's not a surprise when he surfaces every election year to yammer and bleet about politics. Vapid Hollywood narcissists believe that if they pretend to be politically astute, it will compensate for their comical lack of talent and box-office appeal...

Ben Affleck, who tried mightily - but unsuccessfully - to get Sen. John Kerry elected to the White House, said he expects ex-Gov. Mitt Romney to be the Republican nominee in 2008.
He said he thinks the GOP will end up with Romney because the ex-gov looks good, has nice hair - and the Republicans really don’t have anyone else.
“He (Romney) says he doesn’t like abortion and he’s all clean-cut and he looks like a Ken doll.

Ben Affleck--male version of Britney Spears--attractive but dumber than a sack of doorknobs.

Socialism Alert!!!

Hillary Clinton is a vile, loathsome wretch of a socialist...but you already knew that. What you might not have known is that occassionally she gives us a glimpse of the communal, welfare-state hell in which we would suffer and toil if she tricks the stupid American voters into electing her in '08. Here's a snipet of a recent speech she gave to a group of students at a tech school...look for the key socialism phrases she masks with feel-good, nanny-state rhetoric...

Clinton: Shared Prosperity Should Replace 'On Your Own' Society

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.

The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an "ownership society" really is an "on your own" society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.

"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."

That means pairing growth with fairness, she said, to ensure that the middle-class succeeds in the global economy, not just corporate CEOs.

"There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed," she said. "Fairness doesn't just happen. It requires the right government policies."

-Right off the batt she opens with "shared responsibility and prosperity". SHARED PROSPERITY--that's socialist double-speak for "the government, run by me, will take the money that you earn, and give it to people who didn't earn it, but who voted for me."

-Then she pooh-pooh's the "ownership society". Hillary hates the concept of the individual. Everything should be community property. In Hillary's twisted and tortured mind, it's your responsibility to work on behalf of those who choose not to work and provide for them. The government, run by Hillary, will decide how much of your prosperity you will be allowed to keep and how much must be forfeited and given to the shiftless, loafing hippies who voted democrat. You do not own the wealth generated by your hard work, others have rights to it according to Hillary-style socialism.

-"to ensure the middle-class succeeds in the global economy". The Constitution guarantees our God-given right to "the pursuit of happiness". It doesn't guarantee happiness itself. Liberal democrats pretend to be in favor of equal opportunity but what they mean is "equal outcome". If you work hard, get educated, stay off drugs, and manage to accumulate some wealth, Hillary thinks that some of what you earned should be given to lazy, stupid, drug-addled hippies because it's just not fair that you have a measure of wealth and they don't. That they stupidly squandered every opportunity is irrelevant, they deserve to be as wealthy as you.

-"Fairness doesn't just happen. It requires the right government policies". To Hillary and all liberals, America is great because of the government's intrusion into, and control of, all things. We conservatives know that the free market, unfettered by the meddling of pointy-headed government bureaucrats will provide every citizen with far more opportunities to acquire wealth than any government program can.

Hillary Clinton...having a good laugh at the abject stupidity of most American voters.

Deja Vu all over again

On their way out of office, Putie Poot and Bush start what looks like a new Cold War...

Europe should not become "powder keg" - Putin

MOSCOW. May 29 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has cautioned against turning Europe into a "powder keg", referring to Washington's plans to deploy elements of its missile defense system in Europe.

"We consider it harmful and dangerous to turn Europe into a "powder keg" and to fill it with new kinds of weapons," Putin told a news conference after talks with the Portuguese prime minister in Moscow.

"It creates new unneeded risks for the entire system of international and European relations," he said.

Of course, Putin declined to comment on Russia's new MIRV (Multiple Independently-targeted Re-entry Vehicle) which will be deployed in or near the former Eastern-bloc nations, and undoubtedly aimed at Europe and the U.S.

The vet in me says cool, our military needs a modern foe against which we can develop modern weaponry. As opposed to fighting 17th century barbarians in dirty night-shirts in Iraq. The pragmatist in me says we have our hands full fighting 17th century barbarians in dirty night-shirts and we don't need another Cold War just yet.

Here's Putie Poot. Why is Russia building new offensive nuclear weapons when his country is in rapid, suicidal social and economic decline?

Chavez drives the final nail

Thug dictator Hugo Chavez succeeded in driving the final nail in his own country's coffin over the weekend by closing down the last remaining privately held TV station, RCTV. The citizens are understandably upset as the nationalization of all privately held economic assets will rapidly plunge Venezuela into pathetic third world status, exactly like what Fidel Castro did to Cuba.

Venezuela, rich with natural resources and human capital, had a bright economic future until Chavez was "elected" with the help of every murdering, thug dictator's BFF, our own Jimmy Carter. Except for Jimmy the Dihimmi's certification of the "election", Chavez might not be in power today. (curiously, all of Chavez's political opponents died or mysteriously disappeared, never to be heard from again, so Chavez essentially ran unapposed.) Of course none of these details mattered to Jimmy Carter, after all, Chavez hates America, and if you hate America and freedom, you have no better friend than Jimmy Carter.

Hugo Chavez, appearing on his newly acquired TV station.

Memorial Day BBQ

Holy crap!!! This happened literally one hour south of my house. Did I mention...Holy crap!!!

Meet Monster Pig. An 11-year-old Alabama boy used a .50cal pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail.

That thing is as big as a rhinoceros. How did something grow to be that big and no hunters killed it yet? What was it eating? Wild hogs are notoriously agressive and will attack and eat a human at the drop of a hat. I'll bet when they look inside this thing's stomach, there are remains of hunters. I would have to smile at that.

You can read the whole article over at breitbart.com.

The Breck Girl creeped out Lurch

Ambulance chasing, slip-and-fall attorney, environmental hypocrite, phony champion of the poor, unapologetic white-flag surrender liberal. Each of these dangerous character flaws is reason enough not to vote for the Breck Girl for president, but just in case you remain unconvinced of his abject repulsiveness, this ought to do it...

Bob Shrum, famous, and popular in conservative circles for managing eight consecutive losing democrat campaigns, has a new book out entitled "No Excuses: Confessions of a Serial Campaigner," Mr. Shrum's book "repeatedly portrays Edwards as a hyper-ambitious phony,".
For example, Mr. Shrum says Mr. Kerry had qualms about choosing Mr. Edwards to be his presidential running mate in 2004, but grew "even queasier" after Mr. Edwards said he was going to share a story with Mr. Kerry he had never told anyone else — that after his son, Wade, had been killed, he climbed onto the slab at the funeral home and hugged his body and promised that he would do all he could to make life better for people. Kerry was stunned, not moved, because, as he told me later, Edwards had recounted the exact story to him, almost in the exact same words, a year or two before — and with the same preface, that he'd never shared the memory with anyone else. Kerry said he found it chilling[…]

Pretending to channel the souls of dead babies in court in order to convince stupid jurors to give you money other people earned is about as low and depraved as you can get, but now we find out he politicizes the memory of his dead son by running around telling anyone who is of political benefit to him this gruesome, creepy story. And he's lied to so many people about never telling it that he can't remember who he lied to.

When you are so disturbingly ghoulish that you creep out the likes of Lurch, disturbing in his own right, you have serious personal problems and are wholly unqualified for county dog-catcher, much less president.

Hat tip National Review.

Monkey business

WASHINGTON - America’s lowest-paid workers won a $2.10 raise Thursday, with Congress approving the first increase in the federal minimum wage in almost a decade.

Why didn't they just report it this way since this is the reality?

Congress succeeded in sticking it to America's small businesses once again as they monkied with the competitive labor market by hiking the federal minimum wage by an astonishing $2.10 by 2009. As a direct result of Congress's meddling, thousands of young, entry-level workers will be fired and the prices of goods and services provided by these businesses will go up.

This is the reality of the absurd existance of a federally mandated minimum wage. It forces businesses to lay off workers and/or raise prices so that democrats can "prove" to their voting base that they care about the poor and the uneducated. The reality is also that only about 6% of minimum wage workers fail to get a raise after 6 months. The minimum wage is unnecessary.

Seriously, if you are so incompetent, lazy, stupid, undiciplined, irresponsible, or otherwise unwilling to diligently make yourself valuable enough to your employer that he's willing to pay you more than $5.15 an hour, then you deserve to be poor.

Meddling in the labor market is bad governmental policy...but since when does the badness of policy stop Washington bureaucrats from monkeying with the lives of Americans?

It's Ann Coulter Thursday!

It's Ann Coulter Thursday here at TRR. This week Ann offers her take on the immigration issue. As entertaining as it is acerbic...as always.

You're fired!

I want to publically thank George Bush today, not for defending Amurka against terr'ists, North Korean neuculer bombs, or the temptations of offshore gambling. No today I want to thank W. for saving us from the evil queers that infest our military.

It seems that if you are gay, Bush doesn't think you are patriotic enough to translate terrorist communications from Arabic into English for the U.S. military. Apparently you are more of a threat to Amurka as a gay soldier than the terrorists whose secret messages scarce few Americans can understand. Of all the asinine administration policies I've heard, this has got to be the stupidest...

WASHINGTON — Lawmakers who say the military has kicked out 58 Arabic linguists because they were gay want the Pentagon to explain how it can afford to let the valuable language specialists go.

Seizing on the latest discharges, involving three specialists, members of the House of Representatives wrote the House Armed Services Committee chairman that the continued loss of such “capable, highly skilled Arabic linguists continues to compromise our national security during time of war.”

Can you believe the abject stupidity of this administration? There is a huge shortage of Arabic speakers in the military to translate sensitive communications between terrorists, and Bush has kicked out 58 of them to date because they don't adhere to the republican party's idea of morality...unbelievable!!! Regardless of what you think about gays in the military, this country is at greater risk by not having these patriotic Americans helping with the fight against the terrorists.

For you gays-are-evil morons out there, let's say a terrorist group organizes a coordinated attack on a shopping mall killing dozens of civilians, maybe your family included. Would it give you any comfort knowing that an Arabic translator who could have prevented the attack was fired the day before because he wore too much pastel in his off duty hours?

The asininity of political correctness

The hypocricy and absurdity of political correctness is never more evident than when it comes to race. You'd think that was the case only when it comes to reality, but you'd be wrong. Now, black race-tyrants are upset that architectural models MIGHT not accurately reflect the diversity that MIGHT exist if the building ever gets erected. Here's an exerpt from an article you can read here. This exerpt is the race activist and lawyer explaining his problem with the model...

"Mr. Cappelli is planning a multifaceted development, and the renderings should reflect the faces of those who will live, work and play there," civil rights lawyer Michael Sussman said. "By portraying his target users in a racially exclusionary or singular manner, the developer, perhaps unconsciously, makes the full range of the region's population less welcome."

Nearly 17 percent of White Plains residents are African-American, according to the 2000 U.S. Census. Because blacks rely disproportionally on mass transit, Winston Ross, a former regional director of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, said making them so hard to find in renderings depicting a rebuilt White Plains train station is doubly curious.

If every detail of the public square, including cartoons apparently, must be accurate to the letter when it comes to race, then why can't we report accurately the crime statistics for minorities (Ex. in 1999, of the 1.7 million violent crimes involving blacks and whites, 90% were commited by blacks against whites) without being accused of racism by the same activists? Why it's almost as if the race lords aren't really concerned with the truth, but only with casting themselves as victims of a racist society.

Here's the mall design model. If you look closely, you can just make out the WHITES ONLY water fountain in the back ground.

David vs Goliath

As a proud American, I'm always reluctant to take someone else's side against my own country, however, in this case, I'm siding with Antigua. It's kind of a complicated case but I'll try to simplify it here. (If you want to read the whole article go here.)

The tiny island country of Antigua (pop 70,000) has found itself in the crosshairs of the Bush administration's war on immorality. The U.S. has practically shut down their offshore casino operations by banning their ability to process U.S. credit cards. Antigua complained to the World Trade Organization and threatened to stop recognizing our intellectual property rights which the WTO demands all countries do for each other. Their complaint is a good one: Why should we respect thier IP rights when they don't respect our legal right to operate businesses? The U.S. is imparting our absurd anti-gambling morality on them, while expecting them to dutifully observe our IP wishes.

Well guess what? We have way more to lose than they do. What happens when they decide to start copying our music, movies, and software and distributing it worldwide? Our entertainment industry would tank, not that it would be that tragic given the drivel that passes as entertainment these days, but that's not the point.

The point is that we are meddling in the affairs of a sovereign country on the grounds that we want our voters to think we disapprove of gambling. We deserve whatever retaliatory measure Antigua decides upon.

If the Bush administration measured it's policies by the Constitution, they would never get in the trouble they always end up in.

A must read

If you are one of those feel-good lefties who is caught up in the whole ethanol-is-the-answer-for-global-warming fairy tale, you should read John Stossel's latest column over at realclearpolitics.com.

He points out how basing our economy on a corn-based fuel would be not only disastrous, but that converting to ethanol doesn't accomplish ANY of the wonderful things that environmental cultists and politicians tell you it does.

If you don't read anything else today, read this.

The market knows best

The government doesn't have any business meddling in the affairs of private businesses unless laws are being broken. With that in mind, what do you think about this feel-good mandate from Florida politicians designed to trick voters into believing that they are cared about by their government?...

After Hurricane Wilma swept through Florida in 2005, causing massive power outages, one frustration was gas stations that had fuel but no way to pump it.

Last year, the Florida Legislature came up with a fix: a law requiring hundreds of gas stations near evacuation routes to be wired for a generator hookup or have a generator installed by the beginning of the 2007 hurricane season.

Shouldn't this be up to the individual station owners? Why should the government mandate that stations guarantee access to fuel during an evacuation? Is it not the responsibility of the evacuee to fill up his tank before hand? If a station owner has the entrepreneurial foresight to install a generator, he'll reap the rewards of selling lots of fuel during an evacuation. If not, he won't.

"But Ed" you whine, "isn't this a public safety issue? What if people run out of gas and get stranded in the path of a hurricane because the gas stations can't pump the gas. Doesn't the government have a public responsibility to safeguard the citizenry"?

Silly socialist reader, if we are attacked by Venezuela then yes, the government has a responsibility to safeguard the citizenry. If there is a consumer demand for a commodity during a natural disaster, the free market, unfettered by government mandates and motivated by competitive advantage and profit, will provide immediate and efficient solutions at a competitive price.

Florida gas station owner...complying with onerous government mandates.

Jobs Americans WILL do

You know how George Bush, Michael Chertoff, and various other intellectually bankrupt republicans and democrats always told us that illegal Mexicans are only doing the jobs that lazy, good-for-nothing Americans refuse to do? Well guess what? It turns out they were lying to us...

Swift & Company today reported its return to standard staffing levels at all four domestic beef processing facilities after the detention and removal, on December 12, 2006, of approximately 950 Swift Beef employees by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement ("ICE") division.

But wait, I thought there were no Americans to do these awful jobs. Bush told us that they were jobs Americans thought they were too good for.

Why, it's almost as if Bush was jerking the American people around on this illegal immigration thing wasn't it?

Here's a bunch of illegals being arrested from the Swift meat plant. Americans are happily filling those jobs now.

It doesn't pay to be a smelly hippie

Seriously, this might be the funniest thing I've read all week...

BERLIN (AP) - German authorities are using scent tracking to keep tabs on possibly violent protesters against next month's Group of Eight summit - a tactic that is drawing comparisons with the methods of former East Germany's secret police.

Scent samples have been taken from an undisclosed number of people believed to be a possible danger to the upcoming summit so that police dogs can pick out the perpetrators if there is violence, the Hamburger Morgenpost reported Tuesday.

When the cops can keep tabs on you because you reek of patchouli oil and hemp, maybe it's time to do a wash.

Take a bath once in a while...smelly hippie!

Useful idiot

In case you haven't heard, washed-up, has-been "actor" Danny Glover has received $20M to make a couple of movies, from blood-thirsty, murdering, thug dictator Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. Nobody in the U.S. can remember Glover's last successful movie so he has been sucking up to the America-hating socialist, always criticizing the U.S., for a couple of years now and it's finally paying off for him.

For the government school graduates reading this, Vladimir Lenin is generally credited with coining the phrase "useful idiot".
used to describe Soviet sympathizers in western countries (particularly in the United States). The implication was that the person in question was naïve, foolish, or in willful denial, and was being cynically used by the Soviet Union, or another Communist state. The term is now used more broadly to describe someone who is perceived to be manipulated by political movement, terrorist group, or hostile government, whether or not the group is Communist in nature. Wikipedia

If anybody fits that description of a "useful idiot" it's Danny Glover.

As if you needed another reason not to see Danny Glover's movies besides them being horribly unwatchable, his siding with a socialist psychopath against his own country should just about do it.

The Goreacle's house-of-cards begins to teeter

Unless you are a mindless worshipper at the church of modern environmentalism or an overpaid, Hollywood nitwit, you are probably tired of being told by the Goreacle how you are destroying the Earth by simply existing. Well, you'll be glad to hear that the winds of truth are beginning to topple the global warming house-of-cards that Al Gore has erected to scare us all...

"Climate change will be considered a joke in five years time", so says meteorologist Augie Auer.

Man's contribution to the greenhouse gases was so small we couldn't change the climate if we tried, he maintained.
"We're all going to survive this. It's all going to be a joke in five years," he said.

"If we didn't have the greenhouse effect the planet would be at minus 18 deg C but because we do have the greenhouse effect it is plus 15 deg C, all the time."

For you global-warming believers out there, here are a few facts...water vapor makes up 95% of green-house gases. We have no control of that at all. Of the remaining 5%, CO2 makes up 3.6%, and of that, humans only contribute 3.2%. For those government school graduates who were learning to put condoms on cucumbers and attending diversity and sensitivity training instead of math class, that comes out to 0.12%. Humans contribute 0.12% of all the CO2 in the atmosphere. We are told by the Goreacle that the U.S. is the biggest polluter, contributing 49% of global CO2. But that's 49% of 0.12%, or 0.06% of the total.

And the Goreacle wants us to dramatically devolve our lifestyles to something resembling the 11th Century, to reduce what is already a negligable global CO2 contribution. It is stupefying that people continue to believe the man-made global warming fairy tale!

Here's the Goreacle and Hollywood nit-wit, Leo DiCaprio... stupifyingly stupid.

The worst ever...

Not satisfied with holding only the title as "Worst President in U.S. History", this weekend, former President Jimmy Carter cemented his legacy as "Worst Former-President in U.S. History" as well...

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Former President Carter says President Bush's administration is "the worst in history" in international relations, taking aim at the White House's policy of pre-emptive war and its Middle East diplomacy.
The criticism from Carter, which a biographer says is unprecedented for the 39th president, also took aim at Bush's environmental policies and the administration's "quite disturbing" faith-based initiative funding.
"I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history,".

Then, not being satisfied with attacking Bush, Jimmy the Dihimmi felt obliged to attack our best ally in the world too...

Carter also lashed out Saturday at British prime minister Tony Blair. Asked how he would judge Blair's support of Bush, the former president said: "Abominable. Loyal. Blind. Apparently subservient."
"And I think the almost undeviating support by Great Britain for the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world," Carter told British Broadcasting Corp. radio.

As President, Jimmy Carter gave us the highest gas prices ever, presided over 14% mortgage rates, high inflation and unemployment, a botched hostage rescue attempt, and the invention of something called the "misery index", used because the media had run out of terms bad enough to accurately describe how awful the Carter presidency was. Since the voters unceromoniously kicked him to the curb, Jimmeh has been lashing out in lots of ways...snuggling up to various third-world, murdering dictators, criticizing America's ally's around the world for siding with the U.S., befriending terrorists who want to destroy Israel and the U.S., and abandoning all historical precedents of decorum by bashing a sitting President.

Thank goodness Jimmy Carter is just as irrelevant as he is embarassing.

The Eurofication of America begins

OK, so there's a ton of chatter about whether this comprehensive immigration reform bill is "amnesty" or not. My thinking is that if Ted "make mine a double" Kennedy, George Bush and John McCain are for it, it must be amnesty. I've sort of become philosophical about this. Because we've ignored our border for so long and illegals are so intrenched, albeit at the edges, of our society, legalizing them at some point is inevitably going to happen. No politician has the guts for massive deportation so what's the alternative?

I see pros and cons with guest worker programs, border fencing, employment enforcement, deportation programs, I.D. cards, Z-visas, etc. The one issue I haven't seen adressed, but which is foremost in my mind, is voting rights for guest workers and legal resident aliens. Mexicans, like all poor minorities, vote overwhelmingly democrat. This is because the democrats are more than eager to seize money from those of us who earn it, having promised to give it to those who don't. If you were a poor alien, why wouldn't you vote for the politician who promises to take money from people you don't know and give it to you in return for your vote? Democrats have made an art-form out of getting the poor, uneducated, loafing classes to hate the achievers and producers in America. Thanks to democrat demagoguery, many poor people think they are owed some of what others have earned.

With that in mind, what I see looming in America's future is a permanent democrat majority powered by 6-12 million new welfare voters demanding taxpayer funded goody-bags. Goody-bags that craven, power-mad politicians will happily provide. In addition, look for the labor union rolls to sweel by that much too. Strong labor unions make absurd, crippling demands on industry, but of course industry has nobody to blame but themselves for employing illegals all these years in the first place. The problem is the rest of us will pay higher prices for goods and services as a result. The republican party will become indistinguishable from democrats and therefore irrelavant, and will toil in a deserved permanent minority status. (There is no one to blame for the demise of the modern republican party but George W. Bush.)

Bottom line: with the passage of this bill, America will begin it's devolution into what resembles a European country, where there will be a productive minority from whom liberal democrats will take wealth, and an underclass of unassimilated service and industry workers who will demand this wealth in return for votes. The border will remain mostly open across which uneducated, entitlement-minded laborers will stream in order to get the slice of pie Congress has told them is rightfully theirs for the taking. This country will cease to be an English-speaking country(it already has). All schools will become officially bi-lingual. Vast portions of the American southwest, as well as vast portions of most cities, will become Spanish-only barrios in which reside millions of unassimilated immigrants whose only contribution to America will be their democrat vote. Sure they'll work legally, but their miniscule tax burden will not come near to offsetting their demand for taxpayer-funded services.

If you haven't read Atlas Shrugged, I strongly suggest you do so. America is on a certain path to exactly what Ayn Rand depicted in that book.

It's Ann Coulter Thursday!

This week, Ann offers her point of view on Jerry Falwell, skewering loathsome liberals as she goes. Check it out.

When in Rome...do as the Romans

It seems that illegal aliens are assimilating much faster than previously thought. Just like law-breaking Americans, when they get caught being law-breakers, the first thing to do is sue anybody even remotely associated with them, and who has lots of money to plunder...

BOSTON (Reuters) - Workers including 361 illegal immigrants were cheated of hundreds of thousands of dollars in overtime pay at a factory at the center of a high-profile raid in Massachusetts, according to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday.

The class-action lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Boston on behalf of 500 workers, follows a raid by federal immigration agents on March 6 that drew criticism of the Bush administration's immigration policy and brought national attention to the perils facing undocumented workers.

"the perils facing undocumented workers"...there should be peril associated with illegal activity. If these workers are not legal American citizens, then why is the company obligated to follow the labor laws? And why do criminal-non-citizens get to take advantage of our legal system? If the feds, and by feds I mean George Bush, cared what a majority of Americans want done about illegal aliens, he would stage a different raid every day of the week at some company that employs illegals, with deportation being the punishment.

These are the type of people to whom liberals want to grant citizenship and more importantly, voting rights...nice!

The religion of Peace...

Even if you like to run around in dirty night-shirts chanting "death to infidels"; even if you believe that women who are raped probably deserved and invited it; and even though you are Muslim, you have moderated somewhat and enjoy an adult beverage once in a while, wouldn't you think twice before testing the societal tolerance of alcohol consumption in your radical Islamist home country?
Apparantly Mamand Mamandy is rethinking his decision...

Norwegian-Iranian Mamand Mamandy had a brutal meeting with police after drinking two beers while on holiday in Iran.
"It's getting better now, but I am still in great pain," Mamandy, 35, told Aftenposten.no. "My brother is a doctor, and treated me after the whipping. I was in great pain and could not sleep."

Mamandy, a Kurd, explained that he was visiting his mother in Baneh, Iran in April when he was arrested by police.

If you can get the beating of your life for drinking a couple of beers, why do they allow beer to be sold in Iran?

Boy, that's some great religion that Islam!

Mamand...will not be vacationing in Iran any time soon...OUCH!!!

Chicken-Little environmentalists

It's easy to be a doom-and-gloom environmental kook because all your hysterical predictions about the end of the world aren't supposed to happen until long after you've been forgotten. That's why this story is so out of the ordinary...

Our planet is just five years away from climate change catastrophe - but can still be saved, according to a new report.

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) warns governments have until 2012 to "plant the seeds of change" and make positive moves to limit carbon emissions.

If they fail to do so, the WWF's Vision For 2050 warns "generations to come will have to live with the compromises and hardships caused by their inability to act".

"We have a small window of time in which we can plant the seeds of change, and that is the next five years," James Leape, from the WWF, said.

"We cannot afford to waste them. This is not something that governments can put off until the future."

We can't accurately predict the weather for next week. What makes these zealots think they can predict the weather 50 years from now?

Earth---not worried.

Cool!!!

If you're as sick and tired as I am, of tin-foil hat wearing, global warming kool-ade drinkers telling you how you should reduce your carbon footprint, then go to Carboncreditkillers.com and rub your thumb in the eye of those insufferable zealots by increasing your carbon footprint. Have a few old-growth trees felled in your name. You can even get a snazzy T-shirt commemorating the event to antagonize your liberal friends. "My carbon footprint is bigger than yours" on a T-shirt should really tick off that Birkenstocks-wearing, granola-munching, smelly hippie in the next cubicle.

Bigger fish to fry

The doping case against TDF champion Floyd Landis is looking weaker and weaker this week...

Floyd Landis claims the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s lead attorney approached his lawyer offering “the shortest suspension they’d ever given an athlete” if Landis provided information that implicated Lance Armstrong for doping.

When the enforcement agency tries to get you to snitch on another athlete who has been retired for two years, they must not have as much on you as they would like you to believe. Floyd Landis won the Tour de France, how much bigger fish are there in cycling? Why are they after Lance? He was the most tested athlete in the world for seven years and not once did he ever test positive. Cycling had better get their act together and restrain these governing agencies who think that they have to bust a big-name athlete regularly in order to justify their jobs. My opposition to labor unions is well-documented on this blog, but here's one instance where a riders' union would do some good for the sport.

Floyd Landis---not a snitch.

The great black hope

Proving that he is indeed clueless, as are all liberals, in the ways of market dynamics, Barak Hussein Obama conveyed the backward idea that companies dictate what consumers buy, not the other way around. Companies provide what consumers demand. B.O. stupidly decided to go public with his idiotic notions in Detroit where he told auto-makers that they are producing the wrong kind of car...

Obama this week flew to Detroit to deliver his message that the U.S. auto industry is the villain for "investing in bigger and faster cars while foreign competitors invested in more fuel-efficient technology."

What B.O. didn't say, but all conservatives know, is that as a democrat, he thinks the government always knows best what's right and wrong for consumers. Why would any freedom-loving American vote for a man who advocates government control of industries and markets?

Here's B.O. pondering how to swindle Americans into voting for him despite his abysmal lack of experience and knowledge.

Big time spender

As sick as it makes me for Bush to have increased the scope and reach of the federal government during the past six years, we have seen nothing compared to the seizure of taxpayer income we'll suffer if the Breck Girl bamboozles the American people into voting for him...

WASHINGTON - Presidential candidate John Edwards is offering more policy proposals than any other candidate in the primary and his ideas are winning loud applause from Democratic audiences.

The question is whether other voters will cheer when they see the price tag — more than $125 billion a year.

Edwards is quick to acknowledge his spending on health care, energy and poverty reduction comes at a cost, with more plans to come. All told, his proposals would equal more than $1 trillion if he could get them enacted into law and operational during two White House terms.

Typical liberal democrat, raise taxes on productive Americans to fund vote-buying, hand-out schemes for the unproductive. The voting-unproductive being the base of the democrat party.

Here's the Breck Girl with her hand out, demanding more of your hard-earned money.

Useful idiots

Bloated, Hollywood nitwit Michael Moore may find himself in hot water with the Feds this week for his unauthorized visit to the third-world, God-forsaken, hell-hole known as Cuba. You may remember that he cajoled a couple of war veterans into going down there to get medical treatment in the 17th century dungeons that pass for hospitals in Havana...

By Bob Tourtellotte

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Federal officials are investigating whether documentary maker Michael Moore, whose 2004 film "Fahrenheit 9/11" attacked the Bush administration, broke laws when he went to Cuba for a new movie about U.S. health care, according to a letter posted on Moore's Web site.

In the letter posted on Thursday, the U.S. Treasury Department warns Moore that U.S. citizens are barred from traveling to the communist country without government approval, and officials are concerned he went there in March 2007 without proper authorization. Violating the law "may result in civil and/or criminal penalties," the letter said.

Liberal Bush-haters will wail and moan about Moore's persecution by the Bush administration and the media will call it a vindictive Bush-motivated witch hunt. Nothing will happen to Moore because leading liberals like Jimmy Carter, Robert Redford, and Cindy Sheehan, who never met a ruthless, blood-thirsty dictator they didn't fawn all over, will come to his rescue.

Gutless, braindead liberals will take anybody's side against the U.S.

Here's the bloated, anti-American idiot now.

It's Ann Coulter Thursday!

If you haven't checked out Ann's latest column you need to.
As usual, she mocks liberal democrats with delicious ridicule. This week she has uncharacteristically nice things to say about the French since they elected a pro-American president who pulls no punches regarding car-burning, Islamic thugs in his country's suburbs. Priceless as always!

Elementary indoctrination

School children are terrified daily by kool-aid-drinking teachers who indoctrinate them into believing the man-made global warming hoax. That's bad enough but, now it's become part of the curriculum for children to regurgitate the disinformation that passes for learning in government schools...

The fifth-graders at Paul Burbank Elementary School are required to work on an exhibition project as part of the International Baccalaureate program. The subject of the inquiry must be a real-life issue or problem that is local or global and is of sufficient scope and significance to warrant an extended investigation.

Burbank's fifth-graders came to realize that global warming remains the most complex environmental problem of our time and threatens dangerous consequences if not addressed. They chose global warming as their exit project for this year since they felt the issue merited serious attention.

This phony, anti-capitalist propoganda is now part of the curriculum that is required before a child can be baptized into the church of kooky environmentalism.

Democrat treachery

We are all familiar with the democrats' awful habit of taking money from those who earned it and giving it to loafers who didn't, in return for votes. Would somebody please explain the rationale for this...

Democrats are bringing legislation to the floor this week to pay Guam citizens for the crimes committed against them by members of the Imperial Japanese military forces during World War II!

3000 Americans died liberating Guam from the Japanese. Why do we owe them anything? I would think they owed us, I don't know, maybe a "thank you, America".

Here's a picture of Americans fighting and dying to free the thankless residents of Guam from the torturing Japanese.

Shut up and brew!

If you are stupid enough, or rich enough, or both, to pay $7 for a cup of Joe at Starbucks, perhaps you've been treated to that company's aggressive attempt to indoctrinate you in the ways of radical liberalism...

An Ohio woman is steaming after reading an anti-God message published on the side of a Starbucks coffee cup.

The message that got Michelle Incanno's blood boiling reads:

"Why in moments of crisis do we ask God for strength and help? As cognitive beings, why would we ask something that may well be a figment of our imaginations for guidance? Why not search inside ourselves for the power to overcome? After all, we are strong enough to cause most of the catastrophes we need to endure."

As if cramming atheism down the throats of it's customers wasn't bad enough, they also aggressively advance the homosexual agenda...

"My only regret about being gay is that I repressed it for so long. I surrendered my youth to the people I feared when I could have been out there loving someone. Don't make that mistake yourself. Life's too damn short."

She looks annoyed that she paid $7 for a cup of atheism.

Hat tip World Net Daily.

Why can't they just be happy saturating the Earth with their stupid, over-priced product?
Sadly there are several Starbucks within a 3-wood of where I work. I will not be patronizing them anytime soon.

Out of pocket

Light posting the last couple of days...apologies.

You'll have to talk amongst yourselves...

I'll give you a topic...

Has France really turned the corner and away from the abyss of wholesale socialism, and will she become a friend to the U.S. once again?

Oh the hypocrisy!

Unless you've been living in the third-world, hell-hole known as Cuba, no doubt by now you've heard of John Edward's vilification of the rich by espousing his idiotic, class-warfare campaign of "Two America's", one super-rich and the other poor. (By soullessly pretending to channel the spirit of dead children in front of stupid North Carolina jurors, Edwards placed his family solidly in the super-rich slice of America).

Since his miserable failure as John Kerry's putative VP, and despite his phony personna as champion-of-the-poor, the Breck Girl has been enriching the already rich and himself, working for a Wall Street hedge fund. For the uninitiated, a hedge fund is the super-rich version of a mutual fund. Only the Bill Gates and John Edwards of the world get to play around with hedge funds. Ordinary Americans like me and you, not so much. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing with getting rich, that is unless you base your entire phoney public life on preaching how evil the rich are and how the poor deserve more of the rich's money.

Here's the Breck Girl, champion of the poor and hedge fund manager to the rich.

Bush's EEOC outrage

If you are still a fan of the Bush administration, then please tell me why he is suing the Salvation Army for asking it's employees to speak English....

EEOC sues Salvation Army over "English-only" policy

The federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has over the years been broadly hostile to employer policies requiring that employees speak English on the job, viewing such policies as improperly tending to screen out workers of protected national origin. Federal courts haven't always agreed with the agency's views on the question, however; in a 2003 case the Salvation Army, the venerable religious institution, was upheld in its right to fire a worker who'd refused to speak English when asked to do so by her boss. Now the EEOC has taken the Salvation Army back to court again, in a case where two clothes sorters at an Army facility in Framingham, Mass., outside Boston, lost their jobs after supervisors decided to start enforcing an existing speak-English policy.

The President, more than anybody else, should not be in the business of undermining the right of a business to hold the ability to speak, or the willingness to learn, English as a condition of employment. Add this outrage to Bush's failure to close the border or offer any meaningful immigration reform and you have a President who has abdicated his job.

For all you kooky, cool-aid-drinking liberals who are going to call me a xenophobe or a racist, this isn't about race or my not liking Mexicans. I love Mexico and Mexicans. I go there regularly for vacation where I throw around lots of American dollars. This about the law, about an unsustainable drain on the social services system, about the preservation of English as THE language of this country, about the preservation of the culture, about the U.S. being a refugee camp for a corrupt third-world country on our border, and about new citizens to our country embracing our culture, not them coming here and setting up micro versions of their country and demanding that we conform to their culture.

It's Ann Coulter Thursday

Here at TRR, we love Ann Coulter. She's one of the only conservatives who'll unapologetically put dumb liberals in their rightful place...i.e., in a position to be scorned and ridiculed. With that in mind, take a look at her latest column here.

Sorry about the light posting today, I'm in a training seminar most of the day. Check back later in the afternoon.

Hippie idolotry

In case you doubted whether the radical environmental movement is really just a mindless cult of green zealots who worship the Goreacle, well read this and then tell me it's not a religion...

Visitors to the Gaia Napa Valley Hotel and Spa won’t find the Gideon Bible in the nightstand drawer. Instead, on the bureau will be a copy of “An Inconvenient Truth,'’ former Vice President Al Gore’s book about global warming.

They’ll also find the Gaia equipped with waterless urinals, solar lighting and recycled paper as it marches toward becoming California’s first hotel certified as “green,'’ or benevolent to the environment. Similar features are found 35 miles south at San Francisco’s Orchard Garden Hotel, which competes for customers with neighboring luxury hotels like the Ritz-Carlton and Fairmont.

This is the paper-weight with which kooky NoCal hotel owners are replacing Gideon's Bible.

Katrina reality

Economic reality slaps business owners of New Orleans like a cold, 30lb mackerel upside the head...

Thousands of business owners in the flood zone have been stunned to learn, long after the storm, how soaring rates for commercial wind coverage translate into fine print on their insurance policies.

Stunned? Let me get this straight, you choose to live in a cereal bowl, below sea-level, between the ocean, a lake, and a swamp, from which even rain water has to be pumped, in hurricane alley, and you just got destroyed by the biggest hurricane ever, and you are stunned, stunned, to learn that your insurance rates have gone up? Let me guess, you want the government to step in and cover all future hurricane losses because of what a tragedy it would be for America to lose the city's architecture, culture, and humanity because they are uninsurable?

Sorry, as a taxpayer, I don't think the government should be in the business of guaranteeing private ventures, even if that private venture is an entire city. That's a free-market function. If the rates are too high, you have choices: go somewhere else to set up shop, risk not having hurricane insurance, set up a private-business collective through which the group secures lower rates. Nobody else in America is guaranteed low insurance rates for private property coverage by the taxpayers, why should the residents of NO expect to be?

Chavez seals Venezuela's fate

Thug dictator Hugo Chaves put the finishing touches on his country's plunge toward total economic and social collapse today by seizing Venezuela's last privately held oil company. In addition, he took control of all public utilities. You won't hear anything negative about it from the fawning socialists in the mainstream American media because they hold Chavez up as a populist man-of-the-people. He is their replacement hero for the ailing Fidel Castro. Unlike Cuba, Venezuela has vast off-shore oil reserves, the sales from which will buffer it against the loss of private entrepreneurism and capitalist innovation that will flee the country. Eventually however, the population will suffer much like the population of Cuba, despite the adoration from the approving sychophants in Hollywood and the democratic party.

The feminine candidate

You'd think that the Silky Pony, John Edwards, would be trying to establish his alpha-male, masculinity ever since it was revealed that he gets $400 haircuts every other week along with manicures and pedicures. (He's not exactly Navy SEAL material.) You may also remember the YouTube video of him getting daintily coiffed by a hairdresser...that clip alone disqualifies him for president in my book.

Now he's doing yoga with Russel Simmons, the Hip Hop mogul. If my nickname was the Breck Girl, I don't think I would be caught doing yoga. But I guess when you're a metrosexual candidate for the office of President and you lead a life of privilege and wealth, good grooming is second only to advocating a liberal socialist agenda for America when it comes to bamboozeling the American people into voting for you.
